Annual Sports Day 2011
Dear brothers and sisters
Salamun Alaikum
Thank you for your participation in Madressa's 4th Annual Sports day today. We are proud to have achieved something more and more every year.
This year, we had the usual run of our previous years, but the day itself started with our introduction on BBC Essex (see article below). Our Deputy Principal Sister Akila Manji attended and was interviewed by Ian Wyatt. She appropriately used the opportunity to inform the wider community of the activities of the madressa. The interview is recorded here.
Then we had a very enjoyable Sports day, which was also attended by Right Honourable MP for Chelmsford West and current Health Minister Mr Simon Burns and Lawford Mead Junior School's Headteacher Mrs Dawn Baker. Mrs Baker was also accompanied by 5 students of Lawford Mead School and Parent Governor Mrs Archer.
It was a great moment of community cohesion and we also made a mark in Essex by showing that we are a community with progressive thinking and responsible attitude to society.
Thanks to all administration team and volunteers especially Brother Zainali Panjwani and Sister Sabiha Panjwani for their such valuable contribution to Sports organisation. Also to Sisters Zeenat Kapasi, Zohra Haji, Shabnam Valji and Nikhat Panjwani for looking after our gastronomy needs.
Please let us know if we failed in any of the activities for today and also let us know if you feel that you enjoyed the day as such comments always help us know the way forward for coming years.
