Annual Prize distribution day for academic year 2012 was held on Saturday 9th Feb 2013 to recognise the great efforts of our children in the Madressa. The occasion provided an opportunity for the children to share their learning with parents, teachers and their colleagues. Each class presented on a given theme including some pre-prepared videos which showed the dedication and hard work of our children in making the occasion informative and enjoyable for the audience.
The programme started by the recitation of Quran by Syed Jarrar Hussain (Adl class) and translation was read by Zain Mohammed (Imamat class). The entire program was chaired by Rameez Naqvi (Tawheed class). Each class presented their learning on a given topic and made the event as interactive as possible. The chosen topics were as follows:
1. Good deeds and bad deeds
2. Heaven and hell
3. Guess the prophets of Islam
4. Show our prophet in good light in 21st Century
5. Our response to the 'innocence of Muslim'
Following the children's presentation, our guest speaker of the day Shaykh Jaffer Ladak appreciated the hard work put in by the children and gave a highly informative and enjoyable speech on the topic of Tawheed. He too made his speech very interactive. After his speech a question answer session was held, where sheikh very eloquently answered some difficult questions, such as knowledge of our masoomeens, day of judgement, Allah's justice with regards to natural calamities, i.e. tsunami, earthquake etc.
Our second guest scholar Shaykh Jabir Chandoo also acknowledged the great efforts by our children and appreciated the hard work that is being invested in running the madressa and providing our future generation with Islamic education and etiquettes.
The madressa Principal Dr Syed Qamar Abbas presented the annual report and summarised the achievements of madressa students last year and thanked all involved in making the madressa a successful learning institution for our children. He particularly thanked teachers for all their hard work and appreciated the Essex Jamaat for their moral and financial support. He also presented Zaynab SA Annual speech award to Shaykh Jaffer Ladak.
His speech was followed by Jamaat's President Brother Sajjad Manji who thanked the principal and the teachers for their dedication over the years and acknowledged that no one can recompense for their efforts other than Allah (swt) and Ahlebait (as).
Last but not least, all children of the madressa where recognised for their hard work and exam results in the award presentation ceremony which was conducted by the principal and awards were given by guest speakers and madressa teachers to the children. The children were presented with Al-Mustafa, Al-Murtaza and Az-Zehra award as per their achievements as well as their conduct and participation throughout the year. Following the award ceremony, the namaaz-e-jamaat was held followed by delicious lunch for all attendees.
